Hello

Some things wot I noticed…

Voting

That voting thread is a classic:
Lots of posts “Oh, I’m voting Green” “So am I”
Two minutes later when some of the Green’s policies are explained
“Oh, I’m not voting Green”

Like a shoal of fish some people –why not find out a party’s policies before declaring you will vote for them?

Don’t feed

17 pages of people not, repeat not at all, getting wound up by Magnetic’s dim postings.

Passive Aggression

Lots of it.
HTH

Freedom of speech

A recent quote: “Freedom of speech is noble, something worth protecting and I’m increasingly pissed off that the principles are being applied to protect twats”
ie I’m all for free speech when I agree with the speaker.

Men

This is the best one.

Massive generalisations about men. Occasionally prefaced with the fig leaf of “Not all men”.

As soon as a person makes a generalisation about Feminists, up comes the cry “We’re not Borg / of a Hive mind” etc.

Schrödinger's cake. Grin

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/02/2015 07:32

Whereas my DC are always disappointed by potato
Cake and fish cake as they just hear cake!

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/02/2015 07:37

Mine wouldn't eat cheese scones. I think it's the dissonance you get when you expect something and taste something else ...

UptoapointLordCopper · 11/02/2015 07:38

Not half as bad as when you expect fucking equality and get something else entirely.

SomebodysRealName · 11/02/2015 07:39

I really enjoyed reading the what men think thread. It was very funny and clearly intended for nobody's benefit than the posters involved (and anyone who might wish to read along and be amused). Not every thread on here must satisfy some higher purpose thank goodness.

SomebodysRealName · 11/02/2015 09:01

I love the conceited concern about unwittingly becoming "a personality".

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 11/02/2015 09:26

upto much like the 'this is not a grape' sadness you get when you bite in to an olive.

SomebodysRealName · 11/02/2015 09:27

I are a piece of sugar once that I thought was cheese

StillLostAtTheStation · 11/02/2015 18:59

I love the conceited concern about unwittingly becoming "a personality".

That has nothing to do with it. I don't want to be one of the posters whose name you remember and realise you know all sorts of things about them.

AKnickerfulOfMenace · 11/02/2015 19:02

I think that's fair enough - some people NC, some don't e.g. AF , both on FWR and everywhere.

Oops I took it to mean "unlike some others on here..." I am also a frequent NC, so I agree that it is a fair enough thing to do. Perhaps I secretly aspire to be a personality!

PuffinsAreFictitious · 12/02/2015 09:06

As has been amply demonstrated, sadly.

Anniegetyourgun · 12/02/2015 20:15

I don't want to be a personality

I really wouldn't worry too much about that.

PuffinsAreFictitious · 12/02/2015 20:26

So is being a personality like being MN Royalty?

If it is, I don't think any of us have much chance of that, except maybe AF, but she wears her crown easy Grin

EBearhug · 12/02/2015 20:28

Are you saying the rest of us aren't personalities, Puffins? Aren't we good enough of something?

Now, could you sprinkle the rose petals before my keyboard while I prepare to type my next post?

EBearhug · 12/02/2015 20:31
  • good enough or something

(I can tell I'm tired. My typing is totally going to pot. )

PuffinsAreFictitious · 12/02/2015 20:34

Oh, we're personalities, I'm just not sure we're personalities iyswim?

EBearhug · 12/02/2015 20:38

Does that mean I'm not allowed to have tantrums and stamp my foot if I don't get my way?

UptoapointLordCopper · 12/02/2015 20:52

I don't have personality. I just agree with everything you personalities say.

EBearhug · 12/02/2015 21:27

Well, obviously, because we are hivemind.

Pastmyduedate0208 · 12/02/2015 23:01

Hi ya
I lurk, I name change...
You lot are all personalities and always entertaining. And more important u r all informative.
I luv u lot :-)
The menz thread has been funny but there have been lots of threads that bait MRA's before. The problem is taking it seriously because too many people are on a deliberate wind up on here.

DuelingFanjo · 12/02/2015 23:05

I read all that as

Had da yadda yadda politics, yadda trolls yadda yadda not all men.

Pastmyduedate0208 · 12/02/2015 23:10

was that to me fanjo?
