Saudi Arabia was doing something similar a while back - ensuring no women who had achieved anything were ever mentioned in public verbally or in writing - in order to write them out of the public record and down play their achievements.

I actually find your use of the terms 'Jews' and 'ARabs' offensive.
I suppose you would find that fundamentalist Christians also 'cut women out', and probably people who are only Christians culturally do not.

That's shocking that a "newspaper" would falsify photos in this way (I seem to remember Stalin was fairly keen on airbrushing his rivals out of photos once he'd had them executed).

OP, I'd click on "report" on your initial post and ask Mumsnet to change the title so we can actually discuss the issue. I think the issue does need discussing, it is shocking, but you simply can't use words which encompass all members of a race in this way (there are Arab Christians, moderate Muslim Arabs, atheist Jews, agnostic Arabs... do you get what I'm saying here?)

Religious nuts, Jewish orthodox and Muslim Wahhabis cut women out. Arab is a race, genetics is not the problem here. Superstition is.

Men cut women out of history. Please don't think it doesn't happen in this country too. May be not as overtly as this example, but it does happen. All the time in business and the arts. Womens' contributions are minimised and overlooked.

It doesn't appear properly now as it's an old news story but www.bbc.com/sport/0/winter-olympics/26271753 here is a story from the BBC about the UK's medal haul at the Olympics. At the time the 'cover' picture to this story on the BBC and both the attached pictures, which you can see, were of the men's team. All the medals, every one, at that point had been won by women.

Not a 'Jew' or 'Arab' urgh in sight. Just the patriarchy, in all it's glory. Women are cut out. All. The. Time.
