Things have changed - back when I was at school, once I got off the school bus and into the house, I was just away from anyone else, unless I phoned them, and that wasn't encouraged because parents spent their whole time making dark comments about the costs (alongside comments about how we don't live in Battersea Power Station if you left a light on.) These days, girls can be harrassed via the various digital options.
