Can anyone help me get my head around this please? I'm seeing lots on Facebook about how you can't have it both ways and I don't know how to articulate what's wrong with it.
Eg if a woman had a top with lots of scantily dressed men on it would that be ok?

I'm confused!

Jazz, I personally think, in a professional context presenting on TV, any scantily dressed/hyper sexualised images are inappropriate.

If there had been a playboy or playgirl calendar in the background, that would have been unprofessional too.

And yes, if a woman presented her science results in a PVC bustier and thigh boots on TV, I don't think that would be very professional and she would have got one hell of a lot more grief than Matt Taylor (who I think apologised after a couple of twitter comments and that was that)

I've seen some interesting posts addressing just this, and this one caught my eye, by a woman who works in porn. (NB: I'm not a fan of live action porn at all, but the reason I'm sharing this post is that it's bring the point of view of someone who has no problem at all with highly sexualised images - obviously - but who thinks context matters.)

There's a lot of discussion about it in this thread.
