becca so true. Even when someone famous has been to the school, my kids don't come home and google their info. They just accept at face value that a nice lady has come to read to them. Not sure my kids would even think whether ANYONE has a dodgy past, tbh. It just doesn't occur to them to wonder about it. Kids are very much in the "now" IMO.

For all we know, she may actually have a child or niece or nephew in the school and they contacted her. We don't actually know that she "self-promoted" at all. If she is acting in regular films now, she may have a different rep in that area.

Unless she is the mother of a child in the room (she's not) I would not any person who has promoted filmed prostitution (whether a man or a woman) in my child's classroom. As someone I am close to was a "crack whore" I would not want someone who has stated publicly that they think a movie about that situation could be "hilarious" in my children's classroom. Luckily for me, I don't live in a place like Compton so I know that will never happen in my DC's school in a trillion years. I feel sorry for these kids that someone like this is put forward as equivalent role model to a policeman or a fire fighter.

Women in porn are not actors. Actors playing baddies do not actually kill people. When Sasha Grey said "rip open all my holes", that's exactly what happened.

But a 3 year old article seems to have eclipsed that somewhat.

I am not familiar with this actress but she's not there in her capacity as an ex porn actress when it comes to reading to children is she.

I'd have a far more violent reaction if someone told me Michael Gove, to pick a name off the top of my head, was going in to talk to the kiddies. And I'm sure that happened quite regularly!

Sasha Grey predominantly promotes herself as a former porn performer. It's on her website, her bio in IMDB (including her porn films) and it's the focus of pretty much every interview with her. She promotes her past, she doesn't speak against the industry.

seven I don't think women make choices to get involved in the type of films SG has done without there being a reason, just as for women in non-filmed prostitution. I don't hold her responsible for the ills of pornography but I still don't think she's a good role model for kids.
