Sounds familiar.

what it acknowledges (and we all know) is that it's not anything to do with them believing their arguments and wanting to change the world for the better (as they see it). it's about getting one up on feminists at all costs, and trying to distract them from the important topics that are a wee bit uncomfortable for MRAs to talk about, like male violence

it also shows that often regulars here are right when they say that refusing to engage in the "debate" has nothing to do with being resistant to having one's opinions challenged. because it's often apparent (or quickly becomes so) that it's not someone genuinely wanting to engage in discussion and explore different views and challenge assumptions from both sides. it's about distraction and intended to frustrate

that is very true, and i very much admire your energy and skill in doing so!

PuffinsAreFicticious · 14/10/2014 05:43

I wonder if the next shit-flinger who dribbles over from reddit or wherever they play the biscuit game would be terribly upset if we, as well as trying to engage them in normal human conversation, just copied and pasted the words of one of their own each time they followed the script?

Would that be mean? Unwomanly?

BriarRainbowshimmer · 14/10/2014 12:39

I like your unladylike idea, Puffin!

I always despair when I see people actually arguing with and responding to MRA's deliberate offensive baiting technique. "Just ignore! Don't engage!"

Ignoring is the BEST most effective way to get rid of and frustrate them.

Haha or I like the copy-and-pasting more familiar MRA nonsense back to them.

Must say the "I have been doing this for over 10 years" made me Shock because a huge part of me actually believed most of these people are small boys that grow out of it...

Please just ignore, ignore....

BriarRainbowshimmer · 15/10/2014 12:38

"Over 10 years" - yes that was kind of tragic to read...

I rarely think men are stupid, however for you, I'm prepared to make an exception.

Men certainly enjoy exclamation marks. NAM etc, naturally.

PuffinsAreFicticious · 16/10/2014 21:26

Only the ones who wear fedoras and write with green ink, obvs. Grin
