I'd love to come but it will depend if anyone is around to babysit dd2, she would never go to a creche because she's very, very shy and would hate it.

I went in 2012, it was great. I went on my own from South Yorkshire and felt like an old friend it was so friendly. The discussions were brilliant.

Oh, tell me more please? What goes on and is it all weekend or what? (Am interested but not sure about a whole weekend!).

Annoyingly there's been some technical problems but it gives you a flavour of what it's about and there's a FAQ section. This year there's a mixture of creative, activist and academic workshops, Liz Kelly will be speaking and there's an evening 'do' where people can perform/dance/relax. We're just finalising the programme and that'll be up on the website and facebook page very soon.

It's run by volunteers of all ages and feminist leanings and everyone provides their services for free.

There's a small childcare budget for those who cannot use the creche and lots of local women are offering bed/sofa space. Some people just come for one day but imo you have to come for 2 days plus the evening for the full NEFG experience!

Do women bring children to the evening thing? I've brought mine to the MWR after-party but I'm often glad of child-free evening things so am just wondering

Im thinking of going, but its my sons birthday, so i dont know

SuperLoud - that hasn't happened so far - the content does tend to get a little risque as the evening goes on. Sorting a babysitter wouldn't be out of the question - one of us will know someone reliable (I can think of several), but it's if the child would settle in a strange place with a strange minder. We could maybe compromise and have it bairn-friendly til half eight?

I'd much prefer a babysitter, frankly. DC are old enough to enjoy someone else to chat to for a bit and bore about minecraft
