Since they seem to be almost 100% of all the great chefs in the world and pretty much the entire kitchen staff in all of the great restaurants. Ratatouille, anyone? Even the rat was a guy. I don't even remember any speaking female rats in the entire movie. Why don't you make me a raw vegan sandwich, bitch?

I was once told that the term "chef" only applies to men in the business, women are called "cooks". I don't think this is still the case (based solely on Angela Hartnett on Masterchef) but I would think it's a line of work with more antediluvian attitudes than many.

Actually I don't think you can actually order single items in many of the top restaurants, you just pay for a fixed menu and everyone gets the same thing for a ridiculous default price. Am I right? I mean places like Noma or elBulli (now closed).

I'm not really sure who the "we" is that you refer to, but the reason I wouldn't even if I had that power is because I have no interest in
oppressing or controlling another section of the population. I have never met a feminist in real life who does.

Also no such thing as a raw vegan sandwich (bread is baked, y'know) so whoever you are, we'd better keep you well away from the kitchen!
