Just seen the first two episodes of the 100 which is currently airing in the states and soon to air in the UK on E4. Reason why I am bringing it up is nearly all the key characters are female and certainly from the two episodes I have seen likely to provide positive female role models.
I do have a couple of issues with the show, the almost perverse role reversal in a teenage sci-fi show is a little too much. The good guys are women or Men of Colour. The bad guys are white with a chip on their shoulder. Hard to tell after just two episodes how this will play out and I certainly hope that they don't end up with a knight in shining armour supporting the key women as it will detract from their stories. Unfortunately I am expecting love interests to make the show messy. Certainly one to watch out for when it comes out on tv in the UK. Two shows and only a little flash of flesh (down to undies to go swimming) so hoping they don't spoil that either.
