BBC 2 tomorrow night (Thurs) 9.30pm

Trailer...Kirsty Wark explores examples of how women are assailed in public life. She asks if there is a new culture in which it is acceptable to refer to women in an offensive way.

I thought the program was absolutely excellent, from start to finish

(but maybe that's because it confirmed some things that I've been thinking for some time).

Kirsty Wark's calm, measured, analytical approach was perfect.

And Germaine Greer was as entertaining as ever - and again spot-on when she pointed out that it's actually worse now than it was in the seventies.

I am going to watch this eve on iPlayer,is it suitable for 14yr old boy?

With four boys I am really trying to raise them to be good men!

The language is very graphic and there is one bit of footage in particular that is quite upsetting. I thought anyway. I don't have teens so I can't really answer your question though, hopefully someone else will!

There is graphic imagery, but apart from the GTA clips, none of it is things you couldn't see on a newsagent shelf or advertising hoarding, and it's being used to illustrate a point and explain how bad things are, so I don't think it's gratuitous. (I wouldn't have believed GTA was that bad without seeing those clips, though I had previously read about it,) so I think I'd be okay for sensible 14yos seeing it, but not that much younger.

He is very sensible and turns 15 this summer. We have been discussing stuff about sexism, racism, abortion etc recently and politics, it's great when they reach an age where you can have pproper discussion about stuff. We are quite a talky/debating family iyswim discussing stuff around the dinner table etc.

We don't have gta though I have seen clips online.

But I think it sounds good and opens up debate and discussion which is a good thing with teens.
