www.drbriffa.com/2014/04/18/low-blood-sugar-appears-to-cause-aggression-and-relationship-disharmony/

I have not eaten healthily today so I'm sure that the good Dr will understand if I have to go and punch him in the head, repeatedly, for such a crap way to discuss a basically tenuous link between DV and blood sugar. If only DP had cooked my dinner a bit quicker...

I can't. With any of this.

Passmethecrisps · 18/04/2014 23:11

First paragraph made my blood sugar collapse to the point where I bought flights to his city and a cohort a knuckle dusters. Face enough? Surely?

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 18/04/2014 23:54

Oh, what fresh hell is this? Is he saying the wife was to blame for not having his dinner on the table, or that the judge should have an emergency boiled egg in his pocket to stop him committing a violent assault against her?

ouryve · 18/04/2014 23:58

Maybe the judge should have grabbed himself a piece of cheese. Or his goodly wife handed him a handful of his nuts. Roasted, of corse, because the other sort are too carb laden Hmm

TooOldForGlitter · 19/04/2014 00:24

Just posted on this in chat but apparently I'm wrong as he didn't actually say what is clearly the subtext. Wtf.

CaptChaos · 19/04/2014 00:47

The judge came home from work, his wife was busy, so he went upstairs? Not into the kitchen to make himself a sammich then? Or anything else which would have elevated his blood sugar enough that he didn't feel the need to repeatedly punch his wife in the face?

And another man makes excuses for this behaviour.

Well, that's a brace of cunts for you.

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 19/04/2014 01:01

Oh, I can't bear to look at the chat thread then. MN v strange at the moment - I blame heartbleed.

I'm sticking to FWR.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 19/04/2014 07:45

Why is he talking about "alleged" violence throughout the first paragraph when the man in question was found guilty?

And unless said man ever skipped breakfast, got into work and then repeatedly punched a colleague in the face, Briffa can get to fuck with his explanation.

whatdoesittake48 · 19/04/2014 13:12

Oh dear. I usually love briffa....but I am saddened that he has failed to properly identify the real issue. Men can be violent and should never be offered an excuse. Theyare aalso able to sort out their own food...

AskBasil · 20/04/2014 12:52

What a load of DV apologist shite.

If I coudl be arsed to sign up for his site, I'd tell him so.

Someone link him to this thread so he can be educated, the nob.

scallopsrgreat · 20/04/2014 14:53

It's an awful article. I have big noticeable swings with low blood sugar. You'll be relieved to know I have managed to restrain myself from punching my husband and children in the face repeatedly (or at all in fact). I also have managed not to be abusive towards them. Give me a gold fucking medal. I may be less tolerant or become a bit short with them. But when I feel myself getting like that you know what, I go make a sandwich. Because I can.

Articles like this are all about excusing men from having self control and supporting their sense of entitlement.

tribpot · 20/04/2014 15:00

I sincerely hope the victim of the "alleged violence" never reads this worthless piece of shit.

Sparklyboots · 20/04/2014 15:57

I left a comment on Friday night but he hasn't let it go up; it's "awaiting moderation" though all the other comments have appeared since then. For someone who is always on about how big pharmaceutical companies silence their critics, it's a bit rich, actually. Nobber. I did think he was just being a fucking idiot but now it just looks like open collusion with the patriarchy.
