Anyone planning on going to the Amnesty AGM?

I know there was some talk of it at the start of the year and suddenly it's next weekend.

I have at last got booked to go and will be joining the working group about the proposed policy regarding legalising sex work.

There are 3 motions:
a)support the initial proposal (the crazy one to push for legalisation of both sides of the supply and demand equation)
b) amend the motion to be just for support of the legalisation of sale but not the right to purchase sex
c) Amnesty should take no stance on the human rights to buy or sell sex

I will be reading up on all the threads etc here to arm myself with facts but was wondering if anyone else was planning to join?

I'm in Australia so obviously I won't be going.

I remember there were two or three people on the Amnesty thread who were members (including you?). I hope they have time to go, but honestly, the way Amnesty has been acting, such as lobbying against the criminalisation of buying sex in Northern Ireland, as well as that hideous internal paper that was leaked by Julie Bindel, it seems like they have already made up their minds.

Did they send you that material '10 reasons to decriminalise sex work' that was intended to help 'educate' members before the vote, but was instead a very dishonest presentation of the issue that talked only about the reasons for decriminalising sellers, and neglected to mention that the other half of the platform involved decriminalising punters and pimps?

I can't go but I hope there are others who can.
They need to hear that trampling all over women's human right to not be bought and sold isn't bloody OK.
