It was absolutely excellent.
Amazing how easy it is to watch a lecture on tv, if it's a good one. There should be more tv like this.

I have just downloaded this as a birthday treat. Ironically watching while ironing DDs pile of pink clothes shuffles about shamefacedly hoping MB is not reading this

It was brilliant. And has given me an awful lot of food for thought.

I thought is was very measured but she certainly got her point across. I think she's wonderful.

Missed this on TV but just started reading it in the LRB today. She is fab.

Loved this, especially when she pointed out how women in public discourse who say something a man disagrees with are dismissed as 'stupid' and these internet trolls write to her calling her a 'moron' whereas men in public discourse are dismissed too but usually simply for being wrong, not fundamentally stupid and worthless.

And that quote she started with about Telemachus and Penelope was awful! Penelope should have used the classic Irish mammy line on him: 'I brought you into this world, I can take you out of it!'. What a thankless brat...
