So you have to have a vagina to look after children, is basically what he's saying.

EauRouge · 20/01/2014 17:51

There's no discrimination against women, as long as they don't have children.... whereas with men it doesn't matter. Surely that is discrimination Confused I think he just opens his mouth and words come out.

I am an LP, work in the City, made my employer 3million quid today and going home to do bathtime.

Nigel can stick that in his pipe and smoke it Grin

Every time I read things like this I think "Hurrah! They've found a way of propagating human beings without all this messy women-giving-birth business!" and then I find out that they are just stupid misogynist arses.

Anniegetyourgun · 20/01/2014 21:47

We don't all get it right though. Some bloody woman gave birth to Nigel Farage, for example. Fail.

Do you think she's on her knees wailing,"Why, goddess, why?" right now?

What he says is right; women are penalised for having maternity leave/career breaks. It's brilliant that he recognises this (despite thinking childfree women don't face discrimination Hmm).

His fuckwittedness lies in the fact that he thinks it's fine-and-fucking-dandy, nay 'biologically natural'.

Wouldn't it have been great if he'd made his point about mothers being penalised and forced to compromise/sacrifice their careers...and then gone on to say what UKIP will do to rectify this?

But, of course not; wouldn't want to alienate 'traditionalists'.

I actually read the UKIP manifesto once (whilst vainly trying to convince my dad not to vote for them) and there is a section about working women/mothers. It's nasty, nasty shit that makes for horrible reading; getting rid of maternity rights and pay and making it legal to discriminate against (ie. not hire) women.

As well as this wee gem "It may not suit this government and their pursuit of the equality agenda but men and women are inherently different. Fathers can be fantastic house husbands but the reality is that caring for babies comes much more instinctively to women." From UKIP deputy leader.
