Just watched the old Miracle on 34th Street.
Th mother works for Macy's. A proper job runs the whole bloody parade, hires and fires.
She is divorced! Her husband fucked off and the daughter hasn't seen him since she was a baby (not just conveniently killed off in the war).
No one at Macy's seems to think having a woman exectutive is special and she gets a big fat raise for doing good work liek her male colleague.
Was almost a bit shocked watching it tbh. It's been so long (since I was a kid) I didn't remember the original being so progressive.
