I am a student in the UK and this year I am completing my Extended Project Qualification. This is a 6,000 - 12,000 word essay on a subject of your choice. I have chosen my subject to be Second-Wave (1960's-1980's) Feminist Literature and whether it promotes equality or not. As part of my research I have set up an online survey, if you have a spare minute please complete my questionnaire, I would be very grateful!

Also if you have any points you would like to add, please leave a reply!

Why did you choose the texts you did Eleanor?

Any particular reason?

Hmm I'd like to know that too Basil.

Also "promotes equality" makes my teeth itch. Like equality already existed in the 60s (or now for that matter) and it was/is feminism's responsibility to achieve and maintain equality. It also implies that feminism could be interpreted as not being about equality.

Mind you I prefer that feminism be about women's liberation. I don't think you can have equality without it.

Elanor, your survey is a bit strange. You ask "if you haven't read any of them would you?".

But if you have read some and answered that you can't simply bypass that. It makes you fill it out as though you haven't

Done.

I would also like to know why you chose those titles. There are far more obv choices you could have made when researching second wave.

Good luck with your research :)

Hi OP, can you explain the last question? Are you asking if feminism is about equality between the sexes or if it's succesful at creating it?

I think that last question was too ambiguous to draw any conclusions from the answers tbh.

Because of what Yoni's question is. I too sort of struggled with it.
