This thread started when we all decided to imagine what the perfect local for feminists would be like. So far, it has taps with plenty of good real ale, and some decent non-alcoholic alternatives too. There are comfy chairs and there's a feminist film night, as well as lots of nice feminist-friendly books on the shelves and space to curl up and read. The open-mic nights are attracting feminist singers and comedians, and we're just sorting out the feminist creche.

Please come along, draw up a stool, and have a good chat about whatever you fancy - as serious or as trivial as you like.

For starters, I have a half-pint of lemonade. What can I get anyone?

I blogged about it and mumsnet. But mostly mumsnet. i am going to be excited again - they're going to let me on the blogger's network. I think. I'm crossing my fingers. But - OOOOHHHH! Grin

It's exciting.

Erm ... yes, washing. I should have done that today, too.

Bob Marley 'Redemption Song.'

No high notes that are tricky to reach and it has good memories. Love it.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 22/10/2013 22:23

Oh, yes!

My little brother used to insist I played that whenever I took him home on Friday nights (he'd pay me to be taxi service when I was working). Him singing to it while trying to moon/ swear at the police is one of my favourite memories. Grin

Bloody women.
Don't know how to behave. Wink

ShriekingGnawer · 22/10/2013 23:05

This is why women should not be allowed in pubs. Terrible.

UptoapointLordCopper · 23/10/2013 11:58

They should only allow ladies. Someone on this board once said that ladies are women who know their place. I thought that was very good. They would know how to behave themselves!

PacificDogwood · 23/10/2013 12:26

I could so do with a nice pub lunch.
What's on the menu, LRD?
You are the landlord AND the cook, yes? Wink

TheGhostofAmandaClarke · 23/10/2013 12:30

Large Glass of Fleurie please. Mmmmmm.
I need a little rest from housework MN ing And dd is pasting her lunch around the kitchen (that's blw for you Grin)

TheGhostofAmandaClarke · 23/10/2013 12:32

Dd is not being ladylike. So I'll leave her in the crèche if that's ok.

LRDtheFeministDragon · 23/10/2013 12:54

Oh, that made me grin, upto. I like that.

pacific - I certainly can be! I'm actually starving, in an ideal world there'd be a lovely roast chicken in the oven, but sadly there's not.

The pub round the corner from me torments me by having a lovely brunch menu and always been too full to go.

Glass of Fleurie coming up for amanda. (What is Fleurie?)

It's the bestest of all Beaujolais LRD
Thank you. Much appreciated. I might sit here and fall asleep try to learn something.
There's an interesting aibu ATM started by a woman (ladeee) who was pissed of at her teenage dd being ogled. The politics are a bit beyond me. Life can be so complicated.
Hey HO. Off to my favourite place FPC Halloween Grin

TheGhostofAmandaClarke · 23/10/2013 13:08

Chocolate biscuits make for an excellent lunch at casa Clarke.

kickassangel · 23/10/2013 13:49

Really just marking my place, but will come back later to say aaaaaargh! why does dd's teacher think I should have been at teacher meetings when her Dad went and did a fine job?

More later, I have hormones to corral.

DoctorTwo · 23/10/2013 15:09

Thanks for the link about Pussy Riot Grennie, it was most interesting. It reminded me of Femen, who I have gone off somewhat after discovering they were formed by a man. Now it could be that he is a feminist and I'm being wrong headed, but I reckon he's just in it to ogle naked women.

I've just spent an hour reading your blog LRD, and it's a wonderful read.

EldritchCleavage · 23/10/2013 15:12

The link was very interesting.

I don't actually disagree with Pussy Riot facing a trial, I just think the charge and sentence were completely disproportionate.

I'm at a loss to understand why facing proceedings was such a 'thing' to a lot of people in the West. After all, if you disrupted a church service in England in the same fashion you would be up before the Mags being fined for breach of the peace, if not more. And the Americans would very likely take it a lot more seriously.

Or am I missing something?

LRDtheFeministDragon · 23/10/2013 15:21

Thanks, doctor, that's really kind. Smile

OP posts:
TheGhostofAmandaClarke · 23/10/2013 15:43

Just read Grennie's link.
I had no idea. Really don't know much about it atall.
But that was a very interesting read, if a bit dismal.
