Are you unhappy that they're targeting female business people specifically? As in why do women need such training?

Someone I know who is high flying in her career was telling me about a course she went on recently which was titled something along the lines of "skills for women in business".

I was a bit Hmm thinking well why not just have a Skils For Business course that everyone goes on but she said it was really useful. They focused on negotiation skills saying that generally this is something that women can struggle with as we're more programmed to want to please people and are not as ruthless in business negotiations as men.

Now I'm sure there's plenty of women who are ruthless but maybe as a whole they're right?

What do you do as a 'woman manager'?

Maybe it is for managers of women? Tricky creatures to manage women, what with their hormones and unpredictability and all.

Surely then the job title should be women wrangler/herder instead then.

Yes, I'll get my coat now Blush

Surely manageress is the word they are looking for Wink

Though as Viva says, women don't tend to be as forceful or assertive (can't think why Hmm) so learning to recognise and overcome that would be useful. But lots of people need skills like that, so on balance not useful to genderise it

I'm disappointed.
I'm told I'm scary too and I didn't get an email. Sad

SeptemBerries · 27/09/2013 20:31

I doubt it Buffy. You'd be admired as a dynamic leader who gets things done.

UptoapointLordCopper · 27/09/2013 20:33

I'm told I'm scary, but I think I'm not bloody scary enough. I want to be fucking terrifying. It will be my new year's resolution.
