Australia's new conservative Prime Minister has unveiled his cabinet. 19 men and one woman.

He praised one of his candidates during the election for her 'sex appeal' and asked the Big Brother detainees to vote for him because he has 'not bad looking daughters'.

We are clearly off to the Dark Ages here.

Australia as a country hasn't ever really been renowned for it's gender equality unfortunately.

Oh yes. I am Australian. I certainly didn't vote him in!

His daughters have been flaunted about in the media like pieces of prime rib leading up to this election. Dark Ages is pretty accurate.

And I thought the Tories were bad enough...

There have been really talented female politicians on both/all sides of politics in recent years. I am so disappointed by this and know it is just the beginning of a wave of conservative social engineering.

My BiL was telling me the other day how he was at a BBQ and the Aussie host/guest (can't remember details) was asked to get some candles out to put on tables outside and he replied 'that's a pink job'.
