Anyone want to stop just talking a DO something??

I'm serious. I'm so frustrated. There's seems to be so much talk about feminism at the moment. I can really feel something in the air. But what can I actually DO to change things? It seems like progress is so slow. I support the Fawcett Society with a direct debit, I sign petitions, I share things on social media to raise awareness.
Is the time right to take some kind of action, there is an election coming in 2015. I fear women's issues will just be reduced to 'childcare'.

Women's issues are never going to be reduced to just childcare.
However, the representation of those issues is likely to be. As for 'doing things'. Call people out on their bullshit. Challenge misogyny. Keep signing the petitions. Have children? Educate them on sexism and so forth in an age appropriate manner. There is so much that can be done. (Sorry, posting and running here.)

Sounds like you need to get involved with a group. Easier to see results on a local level and you get the energy of real-life activism and friendships to keep you going. If there isn't one near you, make use of social media to start one. I did a couple of years ago, with one other woman I found online, and we now have, as well as meetings, a regular book study group and film night and nearly 200 members.
NB I'm not saying the social media stuff isn't worthwhile - it is, but it's mostly harder to see results.
Thinking ahead to the election, you have a much louder voice as a group than as an individual.
