Please sign this if you care that just 23 out of 121 ministers are female!

A reshuffle looms ? but where are the women?

A reshuffle - for both the Conservative and Labour front benches ? is widely expected at some point this Autumn. Last time around, the Prime Minister cut the number of women in the Cabinet by 20 per cent ? men now outnumber women 5 to 1, just 23 of the 121 government ministers are female. Time is running out for David Cameron to honour his pre-election pledge to make a third of his ministers female by the end of his first term.

But do they deserve the job? Are they qualified to do the job/s? Out of a possible pool of how many?

Why did Cameron cut them last time? Surely this is the issue?

I rather see a list of female possibles, not just blanket women.

I'd rather a person who was best qualified at the job than someone for good PR and less suitable for the role.

There are 146 female MPs, out of 650 total. So 22.46% of MPs are women.

There are 23 female Ministers, out of 121 total. So 19.01% of ministers are women.

It seems like the ministerial gender balance is pretty representative of the MPs.

I'd rather have the right person for the job than someone in office because they have a vagina.

As opposed to being in office because they have a penis? Because that never happens. Oh no. Least of all with old boys clubs like parliament.
