I thought it sent a really powerful message - and in Amsterdam's red light district.

Very good, until the very end It was a bit wtf, is this going anywhere, the message summed it up well

A lot of people will be there on their jollies too not really caring how they got there.

MartyrStewart · 05/09/2013 12:42

Or not thinking how they got there Octopus. I think there is still a view that sex workers are doing it through choice.

Oh yes, there's been howls from the usual "sex worker activists" about it being so unfair to conflate sex work with trafficking" Hmm

OctopusPete8 · 06/09/2013 09:32

Well some might be, I think its good to make a distinction between trafficking and chosen sex work.
But there are slaves in the world today then the height of the slave trade.

That was very powerful, thank you for sharing it. Yes, of course, there will be a lot of people there feeling jolly and not caring about the myriad of reasons why women may feel forced to choose prostitution, that is sort of the definition of a Red Light District, really. The point of this is to try to persuade people to think about that and feel less jolly about it all, let's hope it is effective.
