Munch bunch 'helps you grow like mummy and grow strong like daddy'

Is mummy not strong?

Perhaps she's just sitting in a corner while daddy lifts weights?

I don't care for it anyway.

Sorry I best just add that I haven't seen it myself but my mam has just watched it and told me the message, she's a great mam!

Yup It sucks.

gaggiagirl · 21/08/2013 21:38

thanks for that link.

Soooooo mummys totter around in heels and dad pumps iron.

Erm how shit is that nestle?

OP posts:
CaptChaos · 21/08/2013 21:43

Nestlé is pretty shit in total to be fair.

MildDrPepperAddiction · 21/08/2013 21:45

Nestlé are a pretty shitty company anyway. I avoid buying anything from them.

StephenFrySaidSo · 21/08/2013 21:46

hate that ad! I flick it over when it comes on.

gaggiagirl · 21/08/2013 21:51

Now I've seen it its getting switched off in our house too. Its not the sort of message I want my daughter to take on board.
I'm hoping not though as this mammy pumps iron!
Perhaps I should start doing it in red peep toe heels? Wink

Can I re-boycott them? Or boycott them more?

englishteacher78 · 22/08/2013 06:34

Hate it on a general level and indeed on a personal level - I lift and rarely wear heels does that mean when we do have DC, I'm 'daddy'Confused

Boosterseat · 22/08/2013 09:12

They need to come over to my place, I am the jar opener in this house.

It really annoys me when women aren't depicted as strong! My calves and thighs are toned because of my heels habit. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it Nestle.

Boosterseat · 22/08/2013 09:14

Perhaps that's why Dads need weights because they don't wear heels?
I think i may be clutching at straws.

Sparklysilversequins · 22/08/2013 09:36

I hate the Lenny Henry ad for premier inn I think it is.

The men come to the hotel looking tired and serious in suits after their Hard Day At Work and carrying briefcases. The women come tottering in, jumping around on high heels wearing brightly coloured frilly clothing and silly hair accessories carrying tons of bags of shopping.

So men WORK.
Women SHOP.

Oh do fuck off! Angry

The Tesco school uniform ad has got me angry tonight (because apparently only mums do the washing), and the Kinder Surprise one (because only mums care about what the family eats). I feel a couple of stroppy emails to the marketing teams coming on...

On the plus side the Kelloggs Rice Krispies Multigrain Shapes ad has a nice, general "this is what a kid is like" feel to it, rather than the usual gendered crap.

NiceTabard · 22/08/2013 22:07

aha

well I for one won't be purchasing any munch bunch after viewing that pile of shit

I have children right in the target age group as well.

Take that, nestlé!!!

(Although I wouldn't anyway, as buy a naice brand, and I wear heels to work - Damn You Patriarchy - and DH lifts weights at home and is much bigger and stronger than me - erm - ... bugger.)

NiceTabard · 22/08/2013 22:08

TBF they have seen me having a go with the weights and I keep my work shoes at work and so leave in flats every day.

They still have a fixation with the heels in the house.

What is it with children and high heels?

MoonlightPicnic · 23/08/2013 09:42

"The Tesco school uniform ad has got me angry tonight (because apparently only mums do the washing), and the Kinder Surprise one (because only mums care about what the family eats)"

Because the ad agencies are such a bunch of lazy uninspired w***s they'd probley depict the man in the role as flooding the floor or poisoning the kids..All with a gormless expression on his face.

PervyMuskrat · 23/08/2013 18:45

YY to the incapable man stereotype. My list of companies to boycott grows by the day Sad

SauceForTheGander · 23/08/2013 21:41

The dulux one annoys me. The student who paints his room pink - to much laughter from his mates - has the last laugh cos all the women are dancing in the pink room.

Cos they is just drawn to all things pink innit and they are princesses - I suppose. Oh fuck off Dulux.
