This film clip is only 4 minutes or so long and well worth a look - really beautifully done and touching.

I do think that feminism can only go so far if it doesn't also address the BS men have to put up with in regards to 'macho' culture and 'Lad' culture/peer pressure.

Interesting link.

To solve gender equality, we need to target both women and men to build a stronger future for a united and strong world

Very true Smile

Feminism does address it theorchardkeeper.

The problem is, men aren't addressing it. This bullshit lad culture is coming from men themselves and of course women also buy into it, but changing the way men see themselves and how they construct their own masculinity, has got to come from them and be led by them. We can't make them do it - they have to choose to do it themselves.

We can bring up our sons differently, we can challenge the gender policing of our sons and challenge our partners and friends. That's our role.

The major role of changing it though, is men's. We can't do their work for them. We're doing too much of that already. Sad

I found it quite depressing that the #TheMaskYouWear project looks as though it is being led by a woman, who obviously got interested because of her son.

Although I also found it heartening that there were lots of men there doing it too.

I want to see them in the leadership roles of changing masculinity though. It's such an irony that it's the woman who is introducing this.
