But surely ANYTHING could be thrown - phones, wallets etc?

zigzoo · 13/07/2013 11:06

Perhaps this will inspire a protester to empty their moon cup onto a senator. Grin Wink

CaptChaos · 13/07/2013 11:43

Yes, anything could be thrown, keys, phones, wallets, bullets from the handguns which you're allowed to take into the chamber.... so obviously sanitary protection is what security should be confiscating Hmm

cantreachmytoes · 13/07/2013 12:01

I just saw this somewhere else!

GrinGrinGrin At the idea of emptying a mooncup over a senator!!!!!

meddie · 13/07/2013 12:50

I would pay good money to see a senator hit slap in the face with a mooncup....

scallopsrgreat · 13/07/2013 13:05

Saw this last night #tampongate. Tampons obviously are very scary things (as menstruating is). The dark arts. Obviously these women should just be kept pregnant.

Several levels of misogyny going on there methinks!

TheCrackFox · 13/07/2013 13:07

They really just hate women in Texas, don't they?

elQuintoConyo · 13/07/2013 13:26

Don't know whether to laugh or cry.
It reminds me of Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition sketch with their, "bring out the soft cushions!" and "oh no! Not the comfy chair?!" If they'd prefer to be hit by flying ipods or magnums rather than women's things, more fool them.

*magnums = guns, not ice creams!

What a bunch of sad wankers!

TheDoctrineOfAllan · 13/07/2013 13:55

I assume the actual reason is it would be more "humiliating" to be hit by a tampon than by, say, some coins or sweets.

scallopsrgreat · 13/07/2013 14:09

I would imagine that was exactly their reasoning DoctrineofSnatch Hmm

MyHumpsMyLovelyBabyBumps · 13/07/2013 14:12

just when they are trying to convince people they aren't doing this because they hate women but to "improve their health" they show the hate so vividly. I bet that republican woman who thinks rape kits "clean a woman out" so she can't get pregnant wasn't told she couldn't carry tampon.

Ooh, or a woman having her period isn't fulfilling her biological destiny because she isn't PG or breast feeding...

HazleNutt · 13/07/2013 15:15

on a similar note - in Texas, fetus is a person, if abortion is discussed. But not if the same fetus might need health care:

Treague · 13/07/2013 15:44

So...how many of those women are limited to a few hours there before they have to leave in case of leaks?
I'm sure it's not a massive number, but a huge 'fuck you, bitches' to all women present. Nice and symbolic. The fuckers.

BitBewildered · 13/07/2013 15:58

WTAF?! How can that be legal? Fucksake.

MyHumpsMyLovelyBabyBumps · 13/07/2013 17:44

hazle, people apply for benefits because they've already decided they're keeping their baby. The government just wants women to keep breeding it doesn't give a fuck if the babies are born healthy Angry it doesn't give a fuck about outcomes after they are born.

MyHumpsMyLovelyBabyBumps · 13/07/2013 17:46

I wonder what would have happened if one of the women just bled all over. if they would be removed?

Actually, due to widespread derision, they stopped doing the confiscation. But the frelling bill still passed the last I heard.
