Last night the Irish government were discussing the proposed Abortion Bill (don't get me started on this - arrgghhhh) and this happened:

And (sorry very ranty) the National Women's Council's spokesperson is a man. That annoys me too.

I can't resist asking--which side of the issue is this Tom Barry character likely to be on? Men behaving badly to women is so pervasive that I wouldn't assume he's got the most conservative position, at all.

Urgh how horrible! Look at the way she darts away as soon as she can get off him. I wonder if she was doing that awkward semi-serious-sounding "get off me" many women (me) do in similar situations when they don't have the confidence to elbow the sexist twat's lip loudly assert their displeasure.

It makes for very uncomfortable viewing. The whole let's not get distracted is tosh. Trying to paper over this disgusting behaviour.

It is an important bill (but not as inclusive as it should be IMO) but to use it to minimise what happened is low. A hefty donation to womens aid perhaps. And not claim it as an expense.
