I am the happy mum of two girls, one just arrived into our lives recently :). Anyway, I'm so fed up of everyone saying, 'poor dad, he'll need a shed and time out from all of you girls'.
I may be getting too work up, post pregnancy hormones etc, but I don't see why any comments should be passed at all!

Rant over, thank you.

No matter how many kids you had, no matter what their sex is you will always always have someone make a dozy comment.

I have one boy and one girl - the comments about "gentleman's family" and "ohh, isn't it great you've now got a girl" just baffled me.

People just want to fill silence with their words, thoughtless or otherwise.

Congrats on your newborn :)

I agree. I think people just open their gobs without thinking about what comes out. Just ignore them.
