I'm a scientist and I have recently volunteered for a scheme which will mean I go into schools to 'help', so that the students can find out what scientists actually do day to day. I'm hoping it may interest some of the female students into thinking a bit more about science/engineering as a profession.

I'm so pleased there are people like you prepared to do that :D love the life scientific.

I'm not ensure what the 'help' will entail yet. Talking about my job (physicist), giving mock university interviews, assisting in the classroom has all been mentioned. I'm looking forward to it, but still waiting on my crb at the moment.
