I was wondering about what you thought of the LAD bible on FB which has 1.6 million likes. For those of you who don't know what it posts here's a sample...

Read the comments and say if you think it is sexist/misogynist ?

My brothers both like that page. (they are 28 and 25)

I'm trying to educate them but I'm failing. I'll admit it's ones of the reasons that I have very little to do with them.

When you look at the comments on there it brings home to you how many men there are with very very low IQs.

It also brings home to you how many of them really hate women.

And yet women are in denial about it.

When men write that they're cracking up LOL ing about (female) corpses when 2 women a week are being murdered by them, we're all supposed to not notice their hatred and in fact, we are accused of hating them just because we've noticed it.

But I don't know of any feminist pages which display this level of hatred for the other half of the human race.

And women join in! One woman has commented 'her hands are in the wrong place I like to help spread em lol' (under the doggy style pic) that is just so sad and desperate for male approval. Not the act - but broadcasting it to a bunch of strangers. Facebook isn't anonymous either, that comment could show up on her friends' newsfeed. Ugh. Self respect fail :(

I thought Facebook were meant to be removing hate pages. If that isn't one I don't know what is. Depressing.

Just had a quick look at the first screen of each and enjoyed this excellent comment near the top:

"How about (other commenter's name) ill get the strap on, on and u bend ova and we will see how FUCKIN MUCH U BEND UR BACK LOL XXX"

I've tried reporting the LAD Bible page several times (it occasionally cropped up on my News Feed, as some 'friends' seemed to find it hilarious), but to no avail.

Some of it is absolutely vile though.

Never any shortage of people telling them they've got to fight men's battles for them as well - not that I see many people telling men to fight for women's equality mind you.

mm lovely I can't believe some of the comments on there about punching women in the kidneys if they get it wrong. I only hope they articulate their neanderthal views on a regular basis so that no woman is ever stupid enough to sleep with them.

There is an article in this weeks Grazia. "Why were these rape jokes seen as fine" about this very subject.
I had a guy i was at school with "like" a picture from the Lad Bible of a woman sitting inside a bathroom (with what happened back in Feb im sure you can guess the rest.

Seems quite harmless to me. A bunch of men making jokes about beer and women. What men have always done. just like women have always made jokes about men.

The page is unavailable....so hopefully that means it is gone and these stupid men can no longer enjoy their shallow male bonding over casual misogyny.

The stories are harmless and some of them are actually quite funny.

The sex stories are mostly ONS from the guy's point of view.
Havent seen any hatred of women on the ladbible site.

The stories may be 'fine' (I only saw the 2 linked here) but it is the comments afterwards which appalled me, men posting about punching a woman in the kidneys if she doesn't get the position for sex right. This was not an isolated comment, there were several misogynistic and violent comments from woman-hating scumbags on there.

So while comparing women & beer is not a new thing (oh yes, isn't beer great that it doesn't change its mind after you take its top off - if only women were inanimate objects that you could do what you like to.) its the awful attitude of some of the posters taking it beyond merely harmless 'amusing' jokes to abusive misogynistic hatred.

I agree that any woman posting on there to be 'one of the lads' must have serious self-esteem issues. Its like a black person posting on the EDL/BNP forums in support of racist comments!

The lad bible is utterly and completely vile, been going for ages, and is "liked" by millions of (some otherwise reasonable) men. And women of course.

I hate the way it's seen as so mainstream. And people scoff at that "lets teach our sons not to rape" threads. Shit like this is why we need to!

I saw one a while back which showed 3 juice carton openings... A round hole, a slit type opening and a sealed one of these. The caption "The three types of woman". Someone had commented "15...11...9"

arsenal since you are either a. a bit slow on the uptake or b. being deliberately obtuse i will make it clearer. The picture was laughing at the death of Reeva Steenkamp. So you think laughing at domestic violence and murder is funny.
