This has been annoying me since I read about it in the Evening Standard a couple of days ago (On their website here ).
Serious female politicians standing for the poition of Mayor of Pairs have been given this insulting diminutive by a male journalist. It makes them sound small, juvenile, ineffective, and beholden to a UK male poilitician.
Reading about them, they are none of those things. But it makes my blood boil because once again it diminishes womens' achievements.
