after venturing onto other parts of the site, where insidious, unintentional, institionalised, "let's find excuses for it" sexism is rife.

Sometimes I forget that we are not surrounded by like-minded folk. For all the ding dongs on here about cis and porn and prostitution, I feel so much more at home here.

That's it really. Can't believe I was slated as spouting the "normal bollox from the wimmin" just because I called out sexism. ah, well.

Greythorne, I was just thinking how revealing (and not in a good way) some of the posts have been on a couple of threads today, as though a couple of the posters have something invested in controlling the narrative rather than allowing a 'Chat' or discussion to happen spontaneously.

I think that 'something' is often their identities in a workplace heavily affected by patriarchy, about which they are in denial. Line of least resistance, maybe?
