the problem with PTSD?

reposting from MH because nobody wants to talk about it there

see article but actually I have a bigger problem with the ideas that 1. disclosure (to doctors) is somehow cathartic and 2. that there is any sort of meaning to be made from some experiences

although some interesting ideas about overlooking the effects of trauma beyond the constraints of the PTSD diagnosis, what do you think?

It won't let me see the article, just an index.

For contemporary psychiatry recognizes in diagnostics only one outcome for traumatic experiences, and that is posttraumatic stress disorder

This was not my experience. While I did receive a PTSD diagnosis, I also had a lot of assistance in understanding how trauma had fed into other aspects of my then condition.
