BTw interesting that onemorechap says it 'feels like' there are now more child murders by women.
That isn't the case. I think that it is because of increasingly sensationalist papers focusing on violence to children and particularly those by 'monster mums' such as Riggi, who recieved double page spreads in the Mail complete with pictures of her and children. I rarely see this happen when a man kills his children; it seems to be somehow more expected, less monstrous?! horribly enough.
The ratio remains stable. Child murder by parents rises during times of economic hardship as parents, usually lone mothers left in poverty, become unable to see a way out. So I'd expect it to start to rise in this country quite soon :(
