A place to consider practical actions

I know a lot of feminists here already put into practice what they believe through volunteering, campaigning, etc. But this isn't a thread to post what you are already doing - unless it as ideas.

Instead, it for those who are wondering what they can do to put feminism into action and wanting to talk it over, maybe get ideas. Or those already doing things, but who want to get ideas of what more they can do.

I'd love to do more than just talking about it on MN so watching with interest.

Thanks for starting this Eats

Jing - what areas of feminism are you particularly interested in doing some work around?

I really don't know Eats! I'd love to find a feminist group here but there doesn't seem to be one. My suggestions to start one have been met with serious "that could be very dangerous here" comments.

I'd just like to feel, when reading horrible threads about gendercide or DV or VAW and the like that I could DO something instead of just FEEL something. Does that make sense?

Yes makes perfect sense. Is there a rape crisis or women's aid? These attract feminists and can be a way to get actively involved and meet other feminists

I find volunteering in an area that supports women helps a bit with the feeling of helpless anger (although unfortunately it also adds to it.)
