Driving me nuts at the moment that in much of the reporting of US politics leading up towards the election there are constantly repeated phrases being used like "women's issues" and "the women's vote" - always in ref to very specific vagina-centric issues like rape and DV. The implication being that 'women's issues' are those that impact directly on women's bodies and that we are far too busy concerning ourselves with those to worry our pretty little heads about, say, economics or education or any of those other big, serious policies. Hugely damaging as it suggests the women's vote only needs to be courted on policy that directly relates to women - everything else shoud be up to men.
