I have to create a short piece of physical theatre for a course I am doing and I would like to look at motherhood. I haven't got it clear in my head yet but I think I would like it to be both a celebration of being a mother while also challenging the myth of the ideal mother and all the conflicts that exist in that ideal. I would also like to say something about creativity and how my practice as an artist is not separate
to my role as a mother and as part of that I would like to somehow involve other mothers. I would like to offer mothers an opportunity to be creative somehow, either through sending in pieces of film or by creating some kind of live event that people can come along to and participate in which will then become part of the final piece.
I just wanted to sound out the idea and see I'd people think there is something there worth exploring or not.
