And your male partner/DH/DS's driving licence. The photocard ones.

Do you notice anything about the names? I noticed this the other day and it made me feel a bit Hmm

Just checked my Illinois license, and as I thought, no title. Instead, under the name and address details, in smaller letters is 'female', along with my height, weight (well my weight when I was 21!) and eye color.

I haven't read the whole thread so sorry if somebody else has replied: mine says Dr and DH's just has his name even though he is also a Dr. Though there's a reasonable chance he didn't fill in the bit that asked for a title as he doesn't use it much.

I am cross about it now. I hate the thought that people judge me because I am a 'Miss'.

the thing on p3 of this thread about having to have another or previous name when using Ms was disclosure scotland which is the scottish version of CRB checking.

before i married i put Ms on the online application and tried to leave the 'other surnames i'm known as or have been known as' blank and wasn't allowed Angry

now i'm still ms same name but now of course i have another name i can put in there (even though i don't use it).

This MIGHT be related to the fact that in Scotland women don't actually "change their name" - your official records such a a child's birth certificate still say Miss blah blah also known as Mrs Blah..

I've said it before & I'll say it again - unless a person has a justifiable interest in my reproductive parts (for medical or sexual reasons), and I have given them permission to investigate, then it is none of their business if I'm m/f young/old married/single blue/green or whatever.

I need to renew my UK license, I shall see what I can do to just be 'firstname, lastname' when I get round to it.
