"Look at my enormous weapon, it glows in the dark. When I'm sitting on the Jedi Council, miss you, I do, Mum."

This is pretty much all I hear from my 4 year old son. He no longer wants to be called X, he insists we call him Yoda, or just Master for short. We have to constantly hear about his ginormo weapon, his power on the Jedi Council and his wisdom. It's relentless. He really believes he is the mighty powerful, wise Master Yoda. Except for occasionally, when he plays with his Bobby's helmet, thanks to a gift from a well-meaning male relative.

How do I deal with it?

Tell him he's too tall to be Yoda, and not green enough (unless he is green.)

AnnieLobeseder · 27/03/2012 22:17

Is this a thread about a thread or blatant sockpuppetry? Either way, bad form.

Tell him he's actually Princess Leia!

But then when he soaks himself in pink and pours a bucket of glitter over his head, don't come and complain here.

Read 'Live and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid'..... Superhero-obsessed Bill Bryson seems to have turned out quite mild-mannered and metrosexual. :)

KRITIQ · 28/03/2012 09:47

Dunno that Bill Bryson would be happy with the label "metrosexual" exactly.

Still think the best strategy is to play up on the green skin business.

Nyac · 28/03/2012 09:52

That sounds cute.

If you really are bothered and this isn't a wind up, why not find out from him why he feels the need to have a weapon, in particular an enormous one.

Kiwiinkits · 28/03/2012 18:44

You need to examine your own behaviour, which may be reinforcing his behaviour. Do you watch porn?

Get him to teach you how to use The Force

ForkInTheForeheid · 28/03/2012 21:18

Lol. Not sure if this is a pisstake but my 4yo ds really does pretend to be Yoda rather a lot and it made me :D

NicholasTeakozy · 28/03/2012 21:25

The giveaway is unless he's playing with his Bobby's helmet. Good work OP, I chuckled.
