In cases where CB isn't payable

why don't the govt deduct the CB from the £50K/£60K+ earner and pay it directly to the rightful recipient? It may be the same person, but mostly not.

That is sort of what is going to happen, isn't it - I will have to continue to claim CB in order to have my NI protection; my DH will then have it taken in tax.
