German tabloid discontinues topless page one girl

My initial reaction is that of course that's a good thing - however in the same announcement they said that they won't discontinue topless pictures alltogether, they just want to have them more modern and better wrapped inside. So maybe it's just a token gesture with much substance.

Still, should they get praise for getting rid of front page gratitutious nudity or is it just not enough?

It will improve things slightly - it means you'd be less likely to see the pic by accident and it sends the message out that perving over topless pics is something you should be doing in private rather than on trains or in the office.

I think we should give them a patronising pat on the head for this one, rather than a full-on pat on the back.

Apparently they did it for international women's day where they gave all the women a day off work and the men got to make the decision. Because men never get to make decisions in the normal way or have power over how things go.

They should have given the men a day off and let women run the paper.

So now the babes&boobs are on an inside page instead of the front? Sounds like the Sun then, hardly anything to applaud.
