www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2099987/Confident-girls-weaned-Beryl-Peril--cup-cakes.html

"Having picked up an armful of similar magazines, it?s clear that pre-teen girls are being bombarded with images and messages designed to uber- feminise them."

"There is only one message for very young girls. It is not to be brave, or to learn about the world ? it is to be pretty and sweet in order to net a man. It?s about cooking for other people because, of course, girls should never be fat."

Kirstie Allsopp has a successful career and doesn't make a living out of wearing next to nothing or being horrible to others. There are worse role models IMHO.

Kirstie allsopp is titled and wealthy and had a fabulous start in life with amazing parental connections and assistance:

"She is the daughter of former chairman of Christie's Charles Henry Allsopp, 6th Baron Hindlip and Fiona Victoria Jean Atherley (née McGowan, born 1947).[3] She has a younger brother Henry, and two younger sisters, Sofie and Natasha.[4] Due to her father's peerage, she is entitled to use the courtesy style The Honourable Kirstie Allsopp. Designer and businesswoman Cath Kidston is her cousin[5].
The ten schools she attended as a child [6] included St Clotilde's in Lechlade, Gloucestershire[7] and Bedales, near Petersfield, Hampshire. After spending time in India teaching English, Allsopp returned to the UK and began a series of positions, working for Country Living and Food & Homes Magazine and her mother's business, Hindlip & Prentice Interiors, and studying at Christie's. Allsopp set up her own Home Search company, Kirmir, in 1996, focusing on top end purchases in Central and West London.[8]"

Sorry it's wiki Grin

And while I agree it is great that she doesn't make her money by taking her clothes off and it's nice to have a reasonably watchable female presenter who actually does something, her background is extremely rarefied and aspiring to "be like her" is pretty remote for most young women in the UK.

I prefer sarah beeny anyway Grin

Just read the article. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with kirsty allsop, i'm not sure why they have named her in it Confused
