How do they get started/funded and how much political weight do they carry?

It is a campaign organisation rather than a think tank isn't it?

No I'm not being at all sarcastic. The Fawcett Society is the closest thing I could think of to a feminist think tank.

How about Women's Budget Group?

They call themselves "a group" and "an organisation" but their sponsor charity calls them a think tank.
