here.

Bloody woman. I am trying very hard not to type the deeply anti-feminist thoughts she triggers in me.

""there might be an impact on sex abuse, because a lot of girls, when sex abuse takes place, don't realise until later that was a wrong thing to do"

What the actually flippity fuck does she mean by that?

KRITIQ · 16/11/2011 22:44

The link doesn't seem to be working - well I mean it goes to the Guardian's Facebook Page. Have you got another? Thanks!

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 16/11/2011 22:45

I'll see if I can find it on the main Guardian, Kritiq... She's a piece of work...

Northey · 16/11/2011 22:46

I hope she means "don't realise till later that it's a wrong thing that is/was being done to them".

I hope.

I hope.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 16/11/2011 22:47

Here you go, Kritiq

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 16/11/2011 22:48

Northey, that better be what she means... It better. But even so, it's recklessly worded, and leaves a lot of potential for victim blaming

SolidGoldVampireBat · 16/11/2011 22:49

Sorry, try this.
I don't think it's misogynistic of me to say that Dorries is suffering from a particular type of sexual dysfunction if it's one that I've also observed in men. It's an obsession with stopping other people from having sex.

OP posts:
KRITIQ · 16/11/2011 22:52

Thanks Frothy!

This is the usual blether from Dorries. She'll insist it's not victim-blaming but "just being realistic." Bah.

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 16/11/2011 22:53

Urgh, I want to slap her. And that has nothing to do with her being a woman...

Teaching kids abstinence will NOT stop sexual fucking abuse.

Stupid person. Stupid, STUPID person...

DontCallMeFrothyDragon · 16/11/2011 22:56

There's nothing realistic about it, though...

She lives, it seems, in a world where women have abortions to be completely selfish, and people CHOOSE to be sexually assaulted...

I should step away from the keyboard...

PastGrace · 16/11/2011 23:01

She's utterly horrific.

I'm embarrassed, disappointed, and angry that someone in such a dangerously (theoretically) powerful position is either that stupid, or that careless with words.

stickyLFDTfingers · 16/11/2011 23:02

her reference to abuse is extremely offensive. What a horrible, vile thing to say.

HedleyLamarr · 16/11/2011 23:23

Ah, I didn't realise this had been posted. I started a thread in AIBU wrt this daft cow. Sorry, should've checked before posting. If you like, I will report my thread to get it removed.

SolidGoldVampireBat · 16/11/2011 23:54

Oh no, no need for that, AIBU gets more traffic and all that Grin

OP posts:
sternface · 17/11/2011 00:14

My impression of this excuse for a politician is that she wants other women to stop having sex.

Except her of course, with her friends' husbands.....

KRITIQ · 17/11/2011 00:34

Well stern, I don't give a monkeys what she does or doesn't get up to in her own bedroom, but I do object to her attempts to impose policies that will be damaging to women and girls.

I popped my views on the AIBU thread - in light of the recent NSPCC report on violence towards and control of girls and young women in relationships, I think her views are not only ignorant, but negligent.

PamBeesly · 17/11/2011 17:11

She makes me so angry, I don't even live in the UK but follow her vitriol, always directed towards women, under the guise of protecting them from themselves (thats the way it seems to me)
And on another note about her raised in that article, what is wrong with teaching seven year olds about contraception, you are not sexualising them, you are teaching them about sex and biology. If she really wants to protect them against sexualisation she should be launching a boycott Disney campaign.

ChickenLickn · 18/11/2011 00:44

Trust the tories to find someone like this!

How far does she intend to take this 'advice'? Teach babies to say no to eliminate child abuse?
