I saw a few threads about these kinds of things, hopefully this section had some part in it.

a lot of MNers did but it was a very small part, there was a humungous petition elsewhere on the web. I think the people who were leading the campaign went down the 'pointing out to advertisers that it was not a good thing for their ads to sit beside' route - FB don't care about women but they do care about their advertising revenues.

I wonder if all the media "interest" in misogynist abuse on the internet has helped with this.

That's great if it did and it shows why it is so important that women are not silenced on the internet.
