I have managed to see it twice and I really quite like it. Have not thought about it in feminist terms but just interested to see if anyone has seen it and willing to discuss.

Third episode is still available on the BBC iPlayer website:

Yeah, I stumbled across this a couple of weeks ago and have last week's one recorded and waiting to be watched. I was prepared to hate it tbh (not because it's women obv, more because I suspected it would be v nonfeminist) but it did make me laugh out loud in places. For example, the sketch where the bloke is doing baby talk and feeding his girlfriend in a restaurant and she increasingly starts acting like an actual baby Grin

but then there are dodgy sketches, like the one on the beach where one of them plays a hypergroomed woman and the other chucks water over her.

So I'd say it's good in parts. Worth a look.

Ah yes that sketch....not remotely feminist! I will go back and watch the 3rd episode because I remember thinking a lot of the sketches were pretty gender neutral (am thinking of the ones where one woman is doing terrible gurning to the other as a form of charades and it's always something like Ah the ATM has swallowed your bank card) but I did find it laugh out loud at times. It's on at some ridiculous time like 23:55 so one for the recorder.

Is it in French? Yes would be good then I can get my husband to watch it with me.

French feminism is very different to UK/US feminisim. Not better or worse just very different. I can't think of how to explain it now but I will think and come back here and let you know what I mean..

It is - the French title is "VOUS LES FEMMES" iirc. I don't think it bills itself as feminist btw. It's France's answer to Smack The Pony, I guess?

PetiteRaleuse · 07/11/2011 17:39

Oh that sketch thing. Right, no that's not feminism even by French standards Grin

PartyPooperz · 07/11/2011 17:44

No it doesn't bill itself as feminist - it was the title that made me think it was making a statement and if so, I wondered what?

It also reminded me of the great women comedians thread on here.

I watched one episode - I find it annoying that there is so much 'trying to catch a man' emphasis - which strikes me as apologetic: 'sorry we're taking centre stage men, don't be alarmed because we only exist for you' and not exactly liberated. But then again its unlikely they'd get the gig without some submissive posturing to preserve the status quo.
Having said that its refreshing to have an alternative to the all male with occasional token females everywhere else.
