My husband was contacted by the Mini Pages re placing an ad, which my husband did as he is a children's entertainer. We received a copy of the local Mini Pages (South Yorkshire). We were looking at it and found an advert on page 196 for a brothel!!!!!! I contacted Mini Pages and they said they were unaware that it was a brothel and would not be listing it next year. However, I laughed at them because if anyone can look at the ad it is plain as the nose on your face that it is a brothel. It says there are 5 girls and they have the Nuru experience. My husband actually called the brothel and asked for details! The guy on the phone told him the details and sex was definitely involved as he stressed the girls were naked! I then asked Mini Pages what steps they had taken to ensure that none of the women working there were trafficked into it. Of course, they did not reply - I could guess why.
I have put in a complaint to the ASA and if anyone can tell me anywhere else I can complain to please feel free. I have checked with Yellow Pages and Thompson Local and neither of them carry adverts for brothels or massage parlours.
I know some people would probably say 'why not, we know they are out there'. Does selling women have to be so normal.
