Self harm

For what must be a feminist issue tbh, I haven't seen it mentioned it much on these boards.

I suppose it's because it's a hidden pain and trauma. There should definately be some kind of strategy for tackling it.

I scratch cuts and it never occurred me to that that counted as self-harm until a consultant at the hospital asked me about the lesions on my arms. I said that I had a bad habit of scratching when I got worried and she said. "Ah, so you self-harm" in a matter-of-fact way.

I think it's one of those things that doesn't really interfere with ostensibly female duties. If I scratch, it doesn't really take away my ability to care for DD. So, to reference Caitlin Moran, it's a caring affliction, iyswim.
