BBC drama Hidden - just finished

Does it really need a gratutious shot of a naked woman's breasts including her putting her underwear on? I'm not sure her head was even in shot and Philip Glenister stayed nicely tucked up in bed while we were shown her tits. Including when he was talking.

I also object to the fact it appears to be utter drivel but really, in 21st century do we need this objectification? I have no problem with nudity when it's part of the plot and relevant but this was not really the case at all.

Yes it was utter cack. As conspiracy thriller fodder it was poor and I will watch almost anything that has a hint of mystery.

From what I could tell it's that slightly edgy camera work that says "we're not just hawking this shit to the Brits - we're gonna hawk it to the American's too" . A plot consisting of some woman looking enigmatic and being secretative while Phil's character tries to sexually harrass her a bit, despite him apparently being commissioned by her, and some other 2D women characters plus guns, atmosphere and some gratuitous boob shots.

Watch The Closer instead

I'm staying up to watch it on More4 +1. I don't know anyone in RL who likes it. I think it's briliant. Very clever and quite often funny too.

Seriously underrated IMO.

I like Phil Glenister and really loved Life on Mars,Ashes to Ashes and State of Play. However i thought the boob shots in Hidden were just bloody unnessasery. Shame really.

I love The Closer too. Kyra Sedgewick is great. Haven't seen Hidden but normally like Philip Glennister so quite glad I haven't!

i only watched one episode of Mad Dogs on Sky Three when they had a free Sky night and i remember thinking "massive ego trip"
Going back to the boob shots in Hidden its actually reminded me of something.
In a scene in Wes Cravens Scream the teenagers are sitting around in the living room boozing and watching a vid of Halloween.
It gets nearer to the scene where P.J. Soles bares her boobs at the guy in the sheet thinking its her boyfriend.
Then the guy playing Randy in Scream says "Look here comes the "obligatory tit shot".
Brilliantly parodied by Wes i thought.
