Wangari Maathai

I'd not heard from Wangari Maathai until I heard she'd died yesterday. She sounds like an inspirational woman, so wanted to let others know too.

Very sad. She was an inspirational person - and very brave in standing up for women, for the poor and for the environment against a corrupt government.

She helped to get forests onto the agenda of the international climate talks, which will hopefully mean that people get money for protecting their forests rather than cutting them down.

She was absolutely inspirational. I wish I'd known more about her and her work before she passed away.
