Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

What are the October books and anyone want to do Stella Gibbons for fiction?

I was reading Conference At Cold Comfort Farm the other day and laughing like a drain at Mr Mybug and his sense of entitlement, esp when Flora turns down his advances and he accuses her of being frigid and immature. And thought that a feminist take on Cold Comfort Farm would be rather fun.

Also, a load of her other books have been republished (and are on 3 for 2 at Waterstones), Westwood for instance.

Anyone else fancy having a Stella Gibbons month in the Fiction Book Club to brighten up the darkening autumn nights?

Yes, brilliant idea! Cold Comfort Farm is essentially 'modern woman takes on ridiculous traditional society and wins' and it would be great fun to analyse it properly.

I read Nightingale Wood recently - some interesting episodes there too. Westwood is next on my list.

I am well up for this.... is there one volume you want to go for or just any?
